AWS and Google Cloud Regions

Introduction

I mainly use AWS, and recently I had a chance to use Google Cloud. Since the way regions are written differs between them, I put together a summary. This mostly covers Tokyo and Osaka.

AWS

• Asia Pacific (Tokyo)

  • ap-northeast-1

• Asia Pacific (Osaka)

  • ap-northeast-3

Summary

I think it’s fine to just pick ap-northeast-1 for AWS and asia-northeast1-a for GCP.
