Introduction
I mainly use AWS, and recently I had a chance to use Google Cloud. Since the way regions are written differs between them, I put together a summary. This mostly covers Tokyo and Osaka.
AWS
-
Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
- ap-northeast-1
-
Asia Pacific (Osaka)
- ap-northeast-3

Google Cloud
- asia-northeast1-a Tokyo (Japan, APAC)
- asia-northeast1-b Tokyo (Japan, APAC)
- asia-northeast1-c Tokyo (Japan, APAC)
- asia-northeast2-a Osaka (Japan, APAC)
- asia-northeast2-b Osaka (Japan, APAC)

Summary
I think it’s fine to just pick ap-northeast-1 for AWS and asia-northeast1-a for GCP.
